April- August 2018 Data Analysis Consultant
As a consultant for the Marshall Islands Marine Resource Authority, with support from the Marshall Islands Conservation Society, I created a Microsoft Access database and a Data Analysis Guide for the storage and analysis of coral reef survey data collected under the RMI REIMAANLOK Strategic Management Plan.
January 2016 - December 2017 Instructor and Marine Science Certificate Coordinator
As an instructor at the College of the Marshall Islands on Majuro, Marshall Islands, I taught a variety of marine and environmental science courses. I also developed a 30-credit Marine Science Certificate program with the goal of building local capacity to support science-based decision making regarding the RMI's marine resources.
January - July 2015 Teaching and Research Assistant, Instructor
While at CIEE Bonaire, I led lectures, discussions, and dives for Marine Biology and Ecology of the Southern Caribbean, assisted with Marine Ecology Field Research Methods, and co-mentored three undergraduate students on Independent Research projects. I also co-led a research project assessing benthic survey methods.
August 2013 - December 2014 Teaching Assistant
As a Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I led in-class discussions, gave lectures, developed assignments that challenge students to think critically and engage with current research.
